"FIREPLACE WOOD BURNING STOVES"

"Fireplace" have been producing wood burning stoves for over 20 years and have become one of the main competitors in the German market with their very high standards of manufacturing.

They have over 40 different models including steel contemporary , Soapstone and Ceramic Fireplace stoves.

Many of our woodburners have a warming shelf, not only as a feature, but as a handy place for either tea, coffee or that glass of brandy that needs to keep warm.

All Fireplace stoves do not reach over 100c at the base so regulations allow a 12mm hearth for the stove to sit upon. This is unlike many cast iron stoves that have to have at least 125mm of non combustible material below and in front. Also because of its convectional baffling within the burning chamber and the outer skins many of our wood burning stoves can sit as close as 200mm from combustible materials. So if you have a stud wall/partition then with a freestanding Fireplace Stove the distance needed from the wall is minimal.

And with our Corner fitting wood burning stoves the distance is even smaller- as much as 50mm for some Fireplace stoves so is ideal for a corner that has a plasterboard wall.A minimal distance of 50mm - 100mm would be recommended even on a non combustble wall to allow the air to circulate around the stove helping to increase the heat into the room.

Many of our Wood burning stoves have a tidy log/wood storage area below with some having a door closure as well.

The formation of the fire chamber :

The burning chamber is lined with vermiculite bricks to allow the fire to get much hotter without any chance of cracking or distortion within the stove. A tertiary air system allows a constant stream of warm air into the higher section of the burning chamber so as to re-ignite any unburnt gasses. Baffles in the top section of the stove chamber slows the exit of the gasses and keeps them in the burning chamber for longer. So with the vermiculite lining, tertiary air system and the top baffles, this then helps not only the efficiency of the stove but also less emmissions are given off. Our woodburners are all around 80% efficient - not bad considering an open fire is around 20% efficient.

Most of our woodburning stoves consist of three sections, one above the other. In the middle there is the burning chamber that is lined with vermiculite bricks ( fire bricks). In most cases there is a warming shelf above it, and you can find a wood storage compartment below of which the base does not reach 100c in temperature.

What is Fireplace stove capable of?:A Large Soapstone wood burning stove when used correctly and positioned central to the home can heat a whole house. The nominal (average)heating capacity of our wood stoves range from 5 - 9 kW. Nominal output for a woodburner is the output the stove was running at when its best efficiency ratings were taken . So a 7KW nominal output woodburner can probably burn up to 9kw max but will not be as efficient at that rate. Some of our 9kw nominal output woodburners can burn up to 14kw maximum output but maybe below 80% efficiency when used at full capacity.

Our Corner fitting wood burning stoves stoves have a choice of left or Right rear outlet as well as top outlet so accessing an outside wall is easier for you,if you cannot exit through the ceiling/roof therefore reducing your installation costs. We have probably the largest range of corner fitting woodburners which take up the minimum amount of space. Not only producing an excellent heat output they also look fantastic whilst burning and part of the furniture when not.

Our Woodburning stoves transmit their heat by radiating and convecting. The convectional types of stove import the air from the room (or from outside)and warm it up behind/beside the fire inside the twin walled chamber, then transmit it through the air vents. The efficiency of these stoves is particularly high 80%+. Most of our wood burning stoves work on a convection basis. The efficiency tells how many percent of the consumed energy gets into the room as heating. The efficiency of our woodburning stoves is much higher than the efficiency of an open fireplace(which sends most of its heat up the chimney).

Good wood burning stoves can keep the embers glowing for about 6 hours when used with closed doors.

Accessories: Fireplace stoves are equipped with a large fire-proof glass door, so you get high efficiency as well as the fabulous sight of a blazing fire. Also we supply ash pan for easy cleaning , air control tongs, gloves and user manual , although all good woodburners are simple to use.

Safety: You have to keep safety clearances from combustible materials, furniture and textiles after installing your woodburning stove. The distances can change with stove types. Wood burning stoves cannot stand on a combustable floor. Our woodburners can be installed on 12mm glass/ceramic/steel plate as they do not exceed 100c at base. This should reach at least 225mm in front and 150 mm to the side of the stove.

Structures: DIN distinguishes two types of wood stoves. Models of the 2nd structure can be operated with open or closed doors. Models of the 1st structure can be operated only with the doors closed . Fireplace stoves are designed to be used with the doors closed, this is why we have self closing doors on all our models. This will allow your stove to burn more efficiently and save you having to load fuel all the time. Fireplace Stove

Installation in old buildings:

Our Woodburning stoves are suitable for installation in Old buildings as well as New Build. All our stoves come fully assembled including all Soapstone and Ceramic , although this can be removed for installation purposes if needed. Some of our Woodburners have an outside air inlet so you can connect directly using a 100mm pipe.If you already have a chimney and are thinking of having a liner fitted we recommend you have the chimney swept and checked beforehand to make sure there are no obstructions and that the liner will fit. If you do not and are thinking of a new flue/chimney system then contact us to see if we can help with all parts as we offer a discount on stoves and parts as a package. We can also supply hearths cut to any shape you require using a Brazilian Riven slate that is 20mm thick and a similar colour to all our stoves.

It is best to have a survey by a Hetas certified installer before you pick or decide on which stove to purchase. They will advise you on size of stove :eg KW output for your room/home and type of installation that is possible .Remember you can have a woodburner fitted to most areas of your home now, even the corner of a room so do not be dependant on whether you have an existing chimney .
